Insurance Apprentice

Title: Insurance Apprentice (Insurance practitioner, level 3)
Reports to: Operations Manager
Based at: 50 Amwell Street, Hoddesdon, Herts EN11 8UA

Job purpose:

An opportunity to join our busy, vibrant team and learn all aspects of dealing with general insurance enquires and associated administration via the telephone, email and face-to-face

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • To learn and adopt internal procedures and CRM to best service client requirements
  • Conduct data analysis to provide sales support
  • Ensure that all transactions / interactions are compliant
  • To become fully conversant in all personal lines and Micro SME insurance solutions
  • To account manage existing customer renewals under supervision
  • To offer added value add-on products where applicable
  • To gain a better understanding of clients needs for up-sell and cross-sell opportunities
  • To be pro-active in canvassing for new business

Sales Target (Financial year; 1st April – 31st March) – to be agreed

Working hours:

9.00am – 5.30pm Monday-Friday

9.00am – 12pm every third Saturday

Requirements

  • Fast learner and a passion for customer service
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • IT literate

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to enter the insurance industry following school or further education. A full and thorough induction programme will be provided and run side-by-side with on-the-job-training. Training will include; technical knowledge, compliance & regulation, sales & communication skills

The successful applicant should be looking to combine “learning & earning” and use both the apprenticeship training (6-hours per week) with on-the-job training to gain insight and knowledge of insurance products and customer interaction.

Post apprenticeship career development exists including additional professional qualifications

Retail Sales Advisor

Title: Sales Advisor
Reports to: Retail sales manager
Based at: 50 Amwell Street, Hoddesdon, Herts EN11 8UA

Job purpose:

To handle inbound & outbound personal insurance queries, new business and renewals for; home, motor, small business and travel insurance policies.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Manage renewal of existing customer policies in-line with diary system to achieve targeted 85% renewal retention monthly
  • All forms of daily customer queries & correspondence including new business, mid-term adjustments and renewals and their subsequent follow-up
  • Full understanding and confidence in product portfolio; motor, home, travel & simple commercial risks
  • Full knowledge & understanding of the SSP system for client data & risk retention.
  • Development & growth of personal lines products within the existing customer base
  • Further canvassing of new, existing and previous clients for commercial opportunities
  • Target: 15 qualified canvassed leads per month
  • Added value sale of policy add-ons
  • Representation at external business networking

Remuneration:

Dependent upon age & experience
Bonus scale: 25% new business commission, paid quarterly subject to achieving targets

Commercial Account Executive

We are looking for a competitive and trustworthy Sales Executive to help us build our business activities. You will be responsible for discovering and pursuing new sales prospects and maintaining customer satisfaction. The goal is to meet and surpass the company’s expectations to drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs
  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling and networking
  • Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns
  • Maintain up-to-date prospect & customer information.
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate using appropriate methods to enable the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
  • Manage product/service mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims.
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products / services
  • Create and present weekly activity reports to directors
  • Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections
  • Collaborate with team to achieve better results
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills (CPD)

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a sales executive or relevant role
  • Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
  • Fast learner and passion for sales
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
  • Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations
  • Previous industry experience
  • Full clean UK drivers licence & own transport
