Ashbourne Insurance has been a champion of Corporate Social Responsibility in Hertfordshire well before the concept of “corporate social responsibility” was embraced by global businesses. Since we established the business over 35 years ago, we have annually supported local schools, charities, sports clubs and numerous other related organisations. We are also great advocates of supporting and being supported by our local business organisations, networking groups, suppliers and independent businesses.

Ashbourne has experienced numerous benefits from being pro-active in seeking out good causes for our staff, customers and suppliers to support throughout the year, as well as participating in other opportunities to build strong links and personal relationships with our local supply chains. We have several internal community ambassadors who are energetic and passionate about Ashbourne’s involvement in supporting the local community and regularly nominate causes and groups to support.

There are approximately 5 million SMEs in the UK, employing approximately 60% of the workforce and Ashbourne Insurance believes that we all have our role to play in making contributions to our communities to make them sustainable, help them grow, fundraise for charitable organisations and celebrate success.

Please read about some of the organisations we have supported over the past few years.

For the fourth year running independent and family-run broker, Ashbourne Insurance are proud sponsors of this year’s “Ambition 2018 Boost your Sales & Marketing” Conference, an inspirational charity fundraising event. It takes place on Wednesday 14th November 2018 between 930am and 4pm at The Spotlight Theatre, Hoddesdon. Over the past three years, profits raised for charity has reached more than £10,000 in total. This year Ambition 2018 is aiming to raise more than £4000 to be split between two worthy charities, namely The Muscle Help Foundation and The Tamba Bereavement Support Group.

The FSB Hertfordshire Business Awards offer small businesses the opportunity to showcase their work and Ashbourne wanted to show our appreciation for their sterling work. Ashbourne has first-hand experience about the positive impact of winning business awards and decided to become a sponsor of the “Entrepreneur of the Year 2016” award to encourage local small businesses to get involved to raise their profile and celebrate success.

The  “Service Excellence Award” category is probably the most sought-after title, and we encouraged local small businesses to enter, highlight their achievements, elevate their brand and prove they are outstanding in their field. It was a spectacular event with many worthy winners and finalists.

We were honoured to sponsor and attend the Mercury and Observer Community Awards 2014, and help in a small way to recognise remarkable people leading everyday lives and inspirational community-minded people.  Ashbourne is a family-run business with the local community at our heart and we congratulate all the “Highly Commended” recipients and winners alike.  They will inspire our team for many years to come.

SPONSOR THUMBNAIL

One year after scooping two prestigious national Red Ribbon family business awards, Ashbourne Insurance returned to the event as judge and sponsor. Ashbourne is now run by the second generation of family members and won the “Customer First” award last year against stiff competition, including The Goring Hotel, Timpson’s and Travel Counsellors.

Ashbourne had the honour of winning two awards at the FSB 2012 awards and it significantly helped raise our profile with Herts residents and businesses. As a judge and sponsor this year of the “Training and Development Award”, we were looking for a business who displayed a clear strategy to enable their staff to be well trained and evidence of how this impacted their business commercially.

This was a very special occasion for Ashbourne Insurance, fellow sponsors and the Mercury and the Observer Newspapers, with the community at large, to come together to pay tribute to the extraordinary acts and deeds performed by people leading ordinary lives.

People were nominated for their selfless service and, in the case of the young nominees, for their achievements and for their courage.
