No two buildings and their contents are the same and we understand how important your possessions are. For that reason, we don’t cut corners and offer “budget” cover; we offer value for money and peace of mind.
When choosing your home insurance, you must consider the value of the following items:
Items insured within the home are normally insured on a “new for old” basis, meaning in the event of a claim for an insured item you would get a new replacement.
Consideration should be given to carpets and “fitted” furniture. Some insurers would consider these to be part of the building sum insured, so please make sure you include these items.
Further discounts are available if you combine both buildings and contents insurance into one policy and whilst not as large as for motor insurance, a no-claims discount is offered by most insurers.
Personal possessions are not automatically covered whilst outside of the home and “standard” home insurance will exclude accidental damage cover.
As with all types of policy Ashbourne Insurance offers, we search up to 40 leading insurers to obtain cover tailored to your specific needs, at a price to suit your budget. Depending on whether you are owner-occupied, landlord or vacant premises for refurbishment and re-sale, different terms and conditions will apply.
For certain clients, standard home insurance isn’t enough. We have a number of schemes for “High net worth” clients providing higher and wider levels of cover, which is individually structured around the way you live today and offers flexibility to adapt to your future needs.
