The search is on to find the Borough of Broxbourne’s top sportsmen and women, teams and coaches in the Active Broxbourne Sports Awards 2017.
Nominations are open so now’s the time for people to put forward star athletes and inspirational figures that make a difference in community sport. The deadline for submissions is 29 September ahead of a ceremony at the Spotlight in Hoddesdon on 29 November to announce the winners.
Categories in this ninth year of the awards scheme are: Male and Female Community Coach of the Year, Sportsperson of the Year, Young Sportsperson of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to Primary School Sport, Outstanding Contribution to Secondary School Sport, Outstanding Contribution to Disability and Inclusive Sport, Team Achievement of the Year, Service to Sport and Community Club of the Year.
New this year is a category for Outstanding Contribution to Charity through Sport. This award is open to all who have shown dedication in raising money for charities throughout 2016/17 either on a personal level, or as a group.
Winners will represent Broxbourne at the Hertfordshire Sports Awards.
Active Broxbourne promotes and develops physical activity in the Borough. Sponsors of this year’s awards are: Ashbourne Insurance, VolkerWessels UK, The Pavilion Shopping Centre and Broxbourne Borough Council.
The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday 29th November at The Spotlight, Hoddesdon. The compere for the evening will be Sky Sports F1 Presenter David Croft.
