The Spotlight Theatre in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire was the venue for last year’s ‘Ambition 2018 Sales & Marketing Conference’ as organised by big-hearted local businesses who donated their time, manpower and talent to deliver an inspiring day filled with business networking, social media panel discussions, and expert sales and marketing specialists. International acclaimed, professional guest speakers offered motivation in abundance to approx. 100 attendees on 14 Nov 2018, with all ticket sales donated to two local charities: The Muscle Help Foundation and The Tamba Bereavement Support Group.
On Wednesday 8th January 2019, the sponsors and organising committee of the event met again at The Spotlight to present an impressive £5000 to the charities; £2500 to each. These donations will have significant impact to both charity organisations. Over the past four years funds raised for charity has reached more than £15,000 in total.
As a founder member of the event, Ashbourne Insurance’s Sarah Smits commented,” Together with a wonderful committee of local businesses and leading UK professional speakers who give of their time freely, we have been overwhelmed with the support for the series of Ambition Events that Ashbourne has been part of since 2014. The passion and energy of the sponsors, attendees, committee, venue staff and all the other supporters has been second to none. If we had to deliver this event as a commercial exercise then the ticket prices would have been closer to £300 per ticket with little ability to fundraise. At Ashbourne, supporting local businesses with independent advice and award-winning customer service are our guiding principles; and supporting Ambition 2018 was a wonderful opportunity to network with new and familiar businesses as well as support several worthy charities over the past four years. Ambition 2018 was a collaborative event which was organised by a volunteer committee from the following businesses: Andy Lopata, Ashbourne Insurance, Cariad Marketing, HB Accountants, and the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce. Sponsors and Partners include: Ambition Broxbourne (Broxbourne Borough Council), Ashbourne Insurance, Austins Family Funeral Directors, Cariad Marketing, Curwens Solicitors, The Hertfordshire Business Independent, The Mercury Newspaper, IT Builder, Mobile Stationery, RiskEye, Via Properties and SWCO Financial Planning. Professional guest speakers who also supported the event included: David Thomas, Julie Creffield, Bryony Thomas, and Alan Stephens with all talks moderated by Jeremy Nicholas.
The event also featured a specialist guest speaking panel of Social Media experts made up of representatives from Cariad Marketing, Rubber Cheese and Mahon Digital. Additional professional services were donated by Alison Jenkins Photography and Creative Star Graphic Design.
