Ashbourne wins Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year, East Herts

Last Thursday, we were delighted to be presented with the winner’s trophy for ‘Business of the Year East Herts’ at the Inspiring Herts Business Awards, hosted by the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce.

The awards were held at the magnificent St Albans Cathedral with over 400 guests in attendance at the black tie gala.

The Inspiring Herts Business awards were launched in 2012 to focus on, and celebrate, the expertise, achievements and outstanding contribution that businesses and individuals continually make to the growth of the county.  These awards enable Hertfordshire businesses to showcase their performance and achievements to clients, customers, suppliers, stakeholders and to all of the Hertfordshire business community.

The judges’ comments included, “Ashbourne has continued to focus on its personal contact and local reputation. Ashbourne stick to their family values and have a great vision of the future plan of action. Ashbourne provide an impressive business model for an impressive, forward thinking business. “

Richard Gvero, Joint Senior Partner at Longmores Solicitors of Hertford who presented Ashbourne with their award on the evening, also commented, “Ashbourne’s award application was very strong as were the other finalists in the category, so it made it a challenge to judge. The result confirms just how strong Ashbourne’s application and evidence was. Congratulations and well earned!”

Peter Smits, Managing Director was also a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year Category.

Ashbourne is also a finalist in the National Family Business Awards 2017 in three categories:  Family Business of The Year and Best Small Business categories, while managing director Peter Smits has been shortlisted for the Entrepreneur of The Year (South East) award.

In their eighth year, the awards were founded to recognise and celebrate the achievements of Britain and Ireland’s family-owned businesses and the entrepreneurs who lead them.

The team will attend the Grand Awards Ceremony on July 15 2017 at Wembley where regional winners and national champions will be crowned.
