Broxbourne-based Ashbourne Insurance has been announced as a finalist in two different categories in the prestigious FSB Hertfordshire Business Awards 2014.
Broxbourne Business of the Year – Insurance is an exceptionally competitive business and Ashbourne is competing against the online comparison sites which all have huge advertising budgets – including those famous cuddly toys! Against this background, the company has defied the odds to see its turnover grow substantially. Peter Smits, Managing Director says that the secret of their success is down to company philosophy. “Our guiding management principle is something we call ‘The Ashbourne Way’, which is a culture, strategy and vision rolled into one. We provide information to our customers so that they are armed with the best advice at the best price for their individual personal and business needs.”
Employee of the Year – Paul Richardson is the Retail Sales Manager at the Cheshunt branch. Paul was entered for the award after Ashbourne launched its own Ashbourne Awards in 2013 and Paul won. He received glowing comments from colleagues, clients and judges alike for his excellent customer service, leadership skills and initiative.
Peter commented: “We are delighted to be short-listed twice this year at the FSB Awards. To be considered as Broxbourne Business of the Year is a fantastic achievement – we’re up against some strong competition, so it’s wonderful to be in the final. We also wish our colleague Paul Richardson the very best of luck. He is an extremely ambitious, confident and thoughtful team member’ who embraces ‘The Ashbourne Way’ to a very high standard He’s always been a champion in our eyes and we’re all very happy that he’s also gained this industry recognition.”
The award ceremony will be held at Shendish Manor, in Hemel Hempstead, on 12th June.
